Maybe the U.S. needs a fourth branch of government: The Facilitative Branch – people who are highly skilled facilitators of group processes, who have the power to stop legislation-in-progress that hasn’t sufficiently followed co-creative, collaborative processes to craft the best legislation possible. They’d also be involved in facilitating the legislative process from a stance of neutrality and expertise with group dynamics. It seems to me that we’ve learned so much about collaborative work and how human systems function that we need to integrate all that into our governance systems. #HumanSystemsDynamics #Facilitation #Legislation #Governance

This collaborative poem came out of a Zoom meeting recently. Unfortunately, I can’t credit the co-creators with anything more than their first names. And I don’t know if I have permission to share this, but it’s too good not to. The prompt was “pressure cooker”. Each of us wrote one line, not knowing in what order it would come together or what the others wrote. I find it quite amazing. #TenDirections #GreatVillageConversation

Anticipation?

Humming fecundity. Aching, afraid, awaiting the taste of the first bite.
Soothed with cold water, it won’t blow up.
The walls are closing in to reveal the injustice in our society.
Brewing, brewing. Making a stew, season to taste. Add salt and let it sit.
The steam condenses under the lid.
The more it goes on the more it grows.
As the pressure increases I become fuller.

If you haven’t checked out Michael Bungay Stanier’s Future You Leadership course, you’re missing out on something great! It’s online until April 12, for free (due to our global pandemic), which is so generous of Michael! I really enjoyed every minute of it.

With apologies to 1 Corinthians 13:4-7.

A coach is patient, a coach is kind. A coach does not envy, does not boast, is not proud. A coach does not dishonor others, is not self-seeking, is not easily angered, keeps no record of wrongs. A coach does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. A coach always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

A great big Thank You to all the coaches in my life, whether you are one formally or informally, know it or don’t know it!

I woke up early and couldn’t go back to sleep again. Thoughts and ideas were swirling in my head, so I wrote them down. I’m not looking for debate. #Leadership #CallToThink #CallToLead #CallToListen

Over the weekend, I hosted a few “drop in and say hi” Zoom calls for friends. I only announced them on Facebook due to zoombombing concerns. Well, actually, I made the mistake of announcing one of them on Twitter, which attracted the zoombombers. I plan on doing more of these. If you’re interested in being notified, send me a private message via channels we already have in place between us. #ShelterInPlace #Connect #Extroverts #Introverts #Listening
