It just struck me: is the U.S. system of credit scores and credit ratings just a “shaming” scheme to keep those who have little to no income tied to a system that doesn’t work for them, but works exceedingly well for those who “have”? Is it a system that values money above all things and has no consideration for the realities of life – misfortunes that can befall any one of us, leaving us unable to honor our intentions to be good participants in society, with all its complexities and ups and downs?

Since I originally published this late in the evening last Friday, I’ll pull it “up” one more time. https://lnkd.in/g5cJUxe #Satir #ChangeModel #Leadership #covid19

If you haven’t found an event yet for World Retrospective Day 2020 (March 26), and you’re near the Pacific Time Zone of the U.S., please join us at https://lnkd.in/eQqhTYz. Enrico can’t make it, unfortunately, but I’ll be doing my best to step in with hosting and facilitation (it may be rough). At this late hour, no registration is necessary. Links to join are on the page – we start at about 6 PM with a bit of networking. And I think I heard that there will be a special guest. #WorldRetrospectiveDay

Shall I add to your information overload, your potential stress and anxiety, your probable confusion, feelings of isolation, overwhelm, and frustration by adding another tip, article, link to a resource or offer of help? No, I don’t think so. There’s plenty already out there. So I will practice stillness, listening, and calm – as much as I can. Picture me sitting with you, just breathing in and out. A quick and deep breath in, pause, and a slow and silent breath out. That is all.

Isn’t the ideal of our modern global economy modeled on precisely the growth pattern of Covid-19? What are we learning from that? We see the spread of the virus as a threat to our civilization. Could it be the spread of our civilization is a similar threat to something?

It was two years ago to the day that I participated in one of the two most personally changing workshops I’ve ever taken. Looking forward to seeing many from that small community in a few hours in an online call. Thanks Michael Spayd and Michele Madore, ICE-EC!

And maybe, just maybe, we’ll finally figure out that what plagues so many places that are trying to “go agile” is that they think it’s about speed. Speed is the problem behind almost every other problem. “Twice the work in half the time.” “800% productivity improvements.” No. Slow down. Focus. Think. Collaborate. Get feedback. Every “disruptive” innovation increases VUCA. Stop it.
